Primary Applications
TECR BEAT CR is used for lining and waterproofing potable, acid water retaining structures and metal surfaces against to contact with acids. TECR BEAT CR is resistant to corrosion,
chemical attack and abrasion and is suitable for application to reservoirs, tanks, silos, water treatment works, breweries, dairies and meat and food processing plants. The cured film is non-toxic and meets the requirements of IS :9833 – 1981.

Design criteria
TECR BEAT CR is designed to be applied in two coats to achieve a minimum total dry film thickness of 200 microns. To achieve the correct protective properties, TECR BEAT CR must be applied on to the substrate at the coverage rates recommended.

Specification clauses
Acid, Potable water / waterproofing lining The tank/reservoir lining shall be TECR BEAT CR, a two pack epoxy coating specifically designed for contact with potable water. The cured film shall comply with the requirements of IS:9833 – 1981.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Surface Preparation
Proper surface preparation is the key to any successful Epoxy application. The surface to be coated should be free of dust, laitance, oils or other contaminants. Corroded steel should be free of scales and corrosion deposits. Steel should be cleaned to a bright color before application. Ideally Grit Blasting would be advised. In case corrosion has occurred due to the presence of chlorides high pressure water washing is recommended immediately after grit blasting.
Mixing
TecR Beat ZR is a two component system. For consistent results mix the entire contents of Part-B Hardner to Part A Base and mix gently for about 3 minutes preferably with a slow speed drill fitted with a stainless steel mixing paddle. The resulting homogenous mix must be of a uniform grey shade. Care should be taken to maintain a clean environment in the mixing area to ensure that the mix is free of any contamination. Ease out air bubbles in the mix before application. Do not thin.
Application
Application of TecR Beat ZR must commence within 3 hours of surface preparation for best results. The mix should then be applied over the prepared surface quickly ensuring that the entire mix is used up well within the pot of life. The application should be done by brush ensuring an unbroken coat. A second coat of TecR Beat ZR is recommended to ensure a break free film. The second coat should be applied when the first coat is tack free dry (usually in about 1 hour). Avoid application at temperatures above 35°c or below 15°c.
Post Application : The primed surfaces should not be left exposed to the ambient conditions for longer than necessary before overcoating. Typically TecR Beat ZR will protect steel under clean interior exposed conditions for a period of several months. In moderate exterior conditions, a maximum interval of 14 days will be endured but in industrial and/or marine environments this interval should be reduced to the practical minimum. In concrete repair, application of the repair material should proceed immediately after the TecR Beat ZR coating is tack-free dry (usually about one hour).

PRECAUTIONS
In cases where application involves prolonged inhalation of solvent vapors, adequate ventilation should be ensured before commencing the application job. Direct contact with skin or eyes should be avoided. Use of gloves, goggles and other protective gear is mandatory. In case of accident eye contact thorough water washing is advised. This should be followed up with professional medical assistance. Neither the individual components nor the mix should be swallowed.
Storage and Shelf life
As TecR Beat ZR is moisture sensitive. Store it at dry conditions. Store under cover, out of direct sunlight and protect from extremes of temperature. Shelf life is 12 months when stored as above. Failure to comply with there commended storage conditions may result in premature deterioration of the product or packaging.
