KEY BENEFITS AND FEATURES

USAGE

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Surface preparation

Proper surface preparation is the key to any successful Epoxy application. The surface to be coated should be free of dust, laitance, oils or other contaminants. Mechanical means like Grit Blasting or grinding should be adapted to remove surface contaminants. The surface may be moderately damp but should not suffer water ingress. Acid etching with diluted Hydrochloric acid followed by copious water washing will produce a surface similar in texture to fine/medium grit sand paper. For old floors with heavy oil contamination, detergent washing with mechanical scrubbing should be followed by thorough water washing is recommended. For new concrete floors ample time should be allowed after completion of curing. The moisture content before application of the primer should not exceed 5%.

Mixing

TecR Nova Primer EPis a two component system. For consistent results mix the entire contents of PartB – Hardener to Part-A– Base and mix gently for about 3 minutes preferably with a slow speed drill fitted with a stainless steel mixing paddle. The resulting homogenous mix is ready for application.

Application

The mix should then be applied to the surface quickly ensuring that the entire mix is used up well within the pot life. The application should be done with a short bristled brush or roller. Ensure that a thin neat film is formed without blow holes, air bubbles or fisheyes. On porous substrates rapid absorption of the first coat will result in the surface appearing parched, in such cases it advisable to go for a second and if necessary a third coat. This will prevent release of air from the pores after application of finish coats. Avoid application at temperatures above 35°C or below 15°C.

Post Application

Post application of TecR Nova Primer EP the application of the topping systems will vary for TecR Nova FC, TecR Nova FC 300, TecR Nova SLand TecR Nova SF. Refer individual data sheets for these products for obtaining correct application data.
