TEC BEAT ET
TEC BEAT ET
COAL-TAR EPOXY RESIN BASED COATING FOR STEEL AND CONCRETE SURFACES
KEY BENEFITS AND FEATURES
- Outstanding compatibility with Steel and concrete.
- Tough, durable and optimum build thickness ensures cost economy.
- Exhibits exceptional bond strength on old and new concrete surfaces.
- Resistant to a wide range of chemicals commonly used in water treatment and water tank cleaning.
- Protects concrete against carbonation and chloride penetration.
- Exceptional build thickness does not require priming.
- High Gloss Finish makes coated area easy to clean.
- Aesthetically pleasing glossy grey finish.
- Easy to apply
USAGE
- Ideally suited coating system for Effluent treatment and sewage treatment tanks.
- Affords excellent protection against corrosion to concrete and steel in aggressive surroundings
- Ideally suited for submerged steel and concrete structures, specifically submerged pipelines.
- The coating is specifically suited for application in petroleum refineries, chemical plants, fertilizer plants, desalination plants and waste water treatment plants.
- In case of aggressive chemical plants, can be applied with an intermediate reinforcement layer of glass fibre to increase thickness.
- Can also be used for water-retaining structures.
- Should not be used for potable water
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
SURFACE PREPARATION
Proper surface preparation is the key to any successful Epoxy application. The surface to be coated should be free of dust, laitance, oils or other contaminants. Water jetting or brick scrubbing should be adapted to remove surface contaminants. For old Surface with heavy oil contamination, detergent washing with mechanical scrubbing should be followed by thorough water washing. For new concrete surface ample time should be allowed after completion of curing. The surface should be moisture free dry. TecR Beat ET can be applied directly to mild steel and concrete surfaces. Mild Steel Surfaces should be free of rust and scales while applying TecR Beat ET. Ideally grit Blasting would be advised. Priming coat is not always required. In specific cases of highly porous concrete surfaces a priming coat of TecR Nova Primer EP may be applied prior to application of TecR Beat ET.
MIXING
TecR Beat ET is a two component system. For consistent results mix the entire content of Part-B Hardner to Part-A Base and mix gently for about 3 minutes preferably using a slow speed drill fitted with a stainless steel mixing paddle. The resulting homogenous mix must be of uniform shade. Care should be taken to maintain a clean environment in the mixing area to ensure that the mix is free of any contamination. Ease out air bubbles in the mix before application.
APPLICATION
The mix should be applied over prepared surface quickly ensuring that the entire mix is used well within the pot life. The application should be done with a brush or by airless spray In case of spray application upto 5% TecR Nova SO may be added for thinning. Ensure that a neat film is formed without breaks, blow holes, air bubbles or fisheyes. The second coat of TecR Beat ET should be applied when the first coat has reached tack free stage (usually 24hours). 1-3 coats may be applied based on site requirements. Avoid application at temperatures above 35°C or below 15°C.
POST APPLICATION
The coated area should be allowed to set room temperature period of 7 days. The coated surface should be washed with clean water before allowing water storage.
